Engineering & Roads Overview
The Engineering Section of Mallow Town Council is responsible for the provision of various services and the maintenance of infrastructure facilities in Mallow Town.
The following are some examples of these:
- Maintenance of the local urban road network, including footpaths, road markings, signage and public lighting
- Street Cleaning and litter bin servicing
- Maintenance of Local Authority Housing Stock
- Open spaces and amenity areas
- Christmas lighting
Mallow Town Council is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of 20 kilometres of urban roads and public footpaths.
Cork County Council is responsible for some roads within the Town Boundary including Main Street (Davis Street)
Town Council received a grant from the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government in 2008 towards the cost of road and footpath improvements. The council will also provide a sum of €204,800 towards the 2008 programme.
