Arts & Culture
The arts scene in Mallow continues to flourish. For those who want to enjoy a performance and for those who want to get involved there's lots of choice. We have a new cinema at Market Square and a new theatre will be opening shortly.
There is easy access to a whole range of arts and cultural events in intimate country venues (such as Banteer Theatre, Kilworth Theatre or The School House Theatre, Charleville) or within an hour's drive at first class facilities such as the Cork Opera House, the Everyman Place, or the Irish National Events Centre in Killarney.
Drama enthusiasts will love the plays put on by the local groups such as Pilgrim Players or Lightbulb Youth Theatre who always welcome new members. Music lovers can enjoy the traditional sessions, the popular music played in Mallow's pubs or the classical concerts organsied by Mallow Arts Alliance.
All of the town's schools have drama groups, music classes and choirs and high quality performances are regularly staged adding significantly to the cultural life of the community. Young people can participate in a whole range of cultural activities including classes, seminars and the Annual Youth Arts Festival.
