Churches
Mallow has been a place of worship for many centuries. The Roman Catholic Parish of Mallow has two churches, St Mary's on the main street and the Church of the Resurrection at Sandfield on the Southside.
St. Anne's Church, the old Parish Church of Mallow, is now in a ruined state but remains a very important part of Mallow's heritage. It was replaced as the Church of Ireland place of worship in 1824 by nearby St James' Church. As our community changes, so too has the diversity of spiritual practice.
The establishment of Evangelical Churches such as Christ Chapel of Grace and The Redeemed Christian Church of God is just one sign of the increasing diversity of faith in the Mallow community. There are also growing numbers of people of other faiths, such as Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism, living in Mallow who enrich the spiritual makeup of the Mallow Community.
