Mallow has long been associated with a great tradition of learning and education. We are fortunate to have six excellent primary schools, including a modern Gaelscoil and three fine secondary schools. These provide a great choice of single sex and co-education schools. Our schools are noted for their committed teaching staff, their high standards of education and the provision of extra-curricular activities.

The three secondary schools currently cater for over 1600 students from the town and the hinterland and have first class buildings and facilities. In addition, Buttevant and Doneraile both have co-education secondary schools of their own. Third level students can travel easily to and from colleges in Cork, Limerick and Tralee.

They also have excellent rail connections to colleges in Dublin. An increasing number of Post Leaving Certificate courses are available in Mallow College of Further Education. There are proposals, as the town grows, to further develop Mallow's own third level education provision.
