Mallow has been a thriving and prosperous market town for many decades. Today, Mallow continues to offer a very satisfying shopping experience to residents, local people and visitors. We have an excellent mix of traditional family shops and larger shopping outlets. New developments such as Market Square, have greatly enhanced the town centre shopping experience. A number of new developments are at the planning stage which, over the next few years, will significantly increase the range of retail outlets in the town. New parking facilities are also planned.

Market Day is Friday, and is located on O'Brien Street, whilst the Mallow Country Market and Mallow Farmers' Market have added to the diversity of Mallow's shopping experience. Mallow Chamber of Commerce and the Mallow Traders Association are working with the Town Council to enhance Mallow's attractiveness as a place to shop. An important project for 2009 is the new Streetscape Study to be undertaken by the Council.
