There is a wonderful tradition of sports in Mallow. Mallow is synonymous with horse racing, and the Blackwater River is a world famous angling destination. There are many voluntary groups and associations involved in promoting sports in the community including traditional field games, individual sports, activities for children and outdoor pursuits.

We also have an impressive range of facilities including the state of the art GAA Sports Complex which is open to all sections of the community.

Mallow Sports and Leisure Council coordinates information on the groups involved in sports and leisure in the community and have produced an impressive directory. Mallow Sports and Leisure Council also hosts an Annual Awards Night which acknowledges and celebrates the contribution made by local individuals and groups.
