Mallow RFC Annual Tag Rugby Festival

Last Friday Mallow RFC held an Official Launch in Albert Lynches Pub where a wholesome turnout of players and enthusiasts came to support this year’s Tag Rugby Festival. The Festival which is being held on Saturday August 10th is growing year on year and last year saw a record number of eighteen teams taking part.

Opening the proceedings Club President Paul Barry thanked everyone for attending and wished the Committee well for the upcoming event. He also thanked the Tag Committee for their ongoing work and noted the success of the Club, especially last season in being promoted to Division 1 and winning Munster Junior Club of the Year.

Next to speak was Sean Hayes, owner of MTD Precision Engineering Ltd. and who are the main sponsor of the Tag Rugby Festival. Sean spoke regarding the importance of inclusion in sport, and also that the participation of the Cope teams in the annual festival is something to be very proud of. He then presented Director of the Tag Festival, Darryl Barry, with a generous cheque and Darryl in turn thanked Sean for his kind sponsorship and continued support.
