Mallow Arts Festival Starts Today

Today sees the launch of the Mallow Arts Festival 2018 which runs for 5 fun-filled days. This evening, internationally acclaimed fashion designer Michael Mortell will officially open proceedings at the Hibernian Hotel & Leisure Centre which will be followed by the legendary Mary Coughlan in concert.

The Festival is crammed full of events throughout the 5 days to suit all tastes and ages, but some highlights are:

Thursday includes a unique Guided Walking Tour of Mallow Town, an Art/Photography Exhibition opening at 119 Main St. and a Céilí Mór for dancing fun at the Hi-B Hotel.

Fridays is just as busy with my pick of the day being the multi-award winning play 'Charolais' at the Aemilian Theatre.

Saturday will have your head spinning with so much to see and do, and the kids are particularly well accommodated between puppet shows, scavenger hunts, acrobat shows and the Wobbly Circus entertaining around the town.

Having survived Saturday, Sunday offers to a wide range of music throughout the town from Jazz to Folk and Black-Metal to Rock n' Roll.

On Sunday evening you have Hank Wedel joined by German Folk Group 'Red Pony' in Ocanas closing out the Festival.

The Mallow Arts Festival is brought to us by the Mallow Arts Collective through Mallow Development Partnership assisted by local volunteer groups, and through sponsorship from Cork County Council, the Arts Council of Ireland, the Hibernian Hotel, Mallow Credit Union and many of Mallow Towns local businesses.
