Stellar STEM Show Set For Sunday


It’s finally here. Sunday 14th sees a day of exploration, demonstration, interaction and mind-blowing activity, and it’s all free.

With over forty entertaining and interactive exhibits gathered for your enjoyment at the splendid indoor Mallow GAA Complex, it’s an event not to be missed!!!

Enjoy and test 3-D exhibits with the Grasstec Group, surround yourself with stars in the Blackrock Castle Observatory StarDome, solve riddles with WIT’s Maths Week team, test your gaming skills with Blizzard entertainment, discover how STEM helps Ervia deliver everyday essential services like water and energy, become a mad-scientist with the wonderfully entertaining Physics Busking crew, check out landmines, body armour and communications with the Irish Defence Forces…….and that’s just seven of the FORTY plus exhibitors lined up!

Flagship local companies such as Dairygold, Kostal, and EPS are joined by many other well-known names such as Teagasc, Inland Fisheries, Ervia, Eli Lilly and Mimi Educational Toys to name but a few. All participating with their own interactive exhibits.

Both engaging & educational, this fair not only provides a fun family day out but also a valuable opportunity to discuss with the professionals their careers working as an engineer, scientist or researcher, etc.

Exhibiting alongside leading 3rd level educational institutions such as University College Cork, Cork Institute of Technology, Waterford Institute of Technology and Mary Immaculate College Limerick are local primary & secondary schools.

Flying the flag for mallow these schools will be showcasing their STEM projects which highlight the success of the Mallow STEM Schools Project of recent years, now positioning Mallow as a centre where innovation, education and new technology are all very much to the fore.

So don’t miss out. Doors open at 11.30am and it runs to 4.30pm.

Free Entry for all and ample parking in the huge GAA Complex.

The Munster Maths & Science Family Fair is organised annually by Mallow Development Partnership’s volunteer members and supported by its main sponsors - Cork County Councils Economic Development Fund and the Irish American Partnership.
