The Heritage & Tourism committee of Mallow Development Partnership has over the past few months been working with local tourism providers and Cork County Council to initiate a credible tourism ‘experience’ for Mallow and its wider area. With Fáilte Ireland predicting an ongoing increase of visitor numbers to Ireland over the next few years, and its Wild Atlantic Way brand now focused on promoting tourism to its inland regions, it is important that Mallow and North Cork are geared up to benefit. Danny McCarthy to open Arts Festival

The Mallow Arts Festival committee are delighted to announce that the Festival which takes place this year from July 24th to 28th will be opened by Mallow native Danny Mc Carthy. Danny has pioneered both Performance Art and Sound Art in Ireland and he continues to be a leading exponent of both art forms, exhibiting and performing both in Ireland and abroad. Danny studied at the National College of Art and Design and was the founder of Mallow Arts Lab. He was also a founding director of the National Sculpture Factory and Triskel Arts Centre and is currently a Director of the Sirius Arts Centre. CanTalk Mallow

CanTalk is a cancer support group in Mallow supporting adults affected by a diagnosis of cancer. Started in February 2015, and running all year round with open access to new members to join at any time, the service is FREE OF CHARGE to attendees. Their focus is to provide a safe, confidential and supportive environment to talk through fears, worries and anxieties, with tears and laughter through sharing with others on a similar journey whilst being supported by trained facilitators with empathy and understanding.
