Munster Maths and Science Family Fair 2022

Cork County Council sponsoring the Munster Maths & Science Fair

Organisers are delighted that Cork County Council, through the Economic Development Fund, will be the main sponsor of this year’s event.

As Chief Executive of Cork County Council, Tim Lucey stated “As one of the many great events the people of Cork could not enjoy due to the Covid pandemic, I am delighted to see the Munster Maths & Science Fair return to North Cork. Cork County Council is steadfast in its commitment to maintaining and enhancing Cork’s achievements as a front-runner in scientific research, education, and manufacturing. The Economic Development Fund (EDF) is available for initiatives like the Munster Maths & Science Family Fair that continue to foster interest in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) subjects to both young and old”.

The event which is scheduled for Sunday 16th October at Mallow GAA Sport Complex, features fun activities which can be enjoyed by all ages and includes interactive demonstrations, science experiments, robotics, 3D visuals, games, and many more exciting displays.

Promotion of the event to primary and secondary schools students and their families is well underway. Both entertaining and educational, the fair’s key aim is to increase awareness of the amazing and wonderful Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) that surrounds our everyday living, work and recreational activities.

The inspiration it provides can lead its attendees to seek further education and careers in the many educational institutions and industries in Cork that require people with inquisitive minds and qualifications in the fields of STEM.
